On the 27th of August, 2016, the Pearland branch participated in the second day of supply distribution at Park Place Elementary School.
Thirteen volunteers came out on the second day to finish off the two-day event. After kicking off the day with performances by CARE, FASCA, and the Shaolin temple, the organization prepared to sign kids off to pick up supplies.
Aylus set up a process where they signed third graders off in order for them to pick up supplies. AYLUS worked as a team; they split up responsibilities and distributed backpacks to the crowd as quickly and efficiently as possible. In the end, our members managed to distribute 183 backpacks.
Because this was an event hosted by multiple organizations, the Chinese news station, NTDTV, interviewed President Kevin Chen and Vice President Tony Liu about the functions and goals of AYLUS, as well as vigorous events in Pearland community and greater Houson.
Ultimately, the AYLUS members were very satisfied with the event’s success.
