On the 26th of August, 2016, the Pearland branch of AYLUS partnered with the We Care organization in order to package supplies for Park Place Elementary School.
Eleven volunteers unpacked hundreds of boxes of the supplies, such as notebooks, pencils, markers, scissors, crayons, and other various school supplies. They filled up six tables with sets of supplies to fill backpacks with afterwards. After everything was organized, the volunteers helped put together each backpack by sorting out the essential supplies. Within five hours, 183 backpacks were filled with essential school supplies, and lined up on the tables in preparation for the next day.
At the end of the day, the principal of Park Place Elementary Ms. Nirmol Lim gave many thanks to each volunteer.
The volunteers were Tony Liu, Kevin Chen, Donna Liu, Han Lu, Fangyuan(Sunny) Wang, Jenny Yu, Joseph Yu, Shurui Zhang, Katherine Zhong, Kate Liu, and Geoffrey Liu.
