Metro Detroit Branch Completes Color Me Run Event!

On June 25th, the Metro Detroit Branch successfully completed the Color Me Run event! The Color Me Run was held as a fundraiser for people with disabilities. Around 600 people raced and over $25,000 was raised. The members of the Metro Detroit Branch volunteered as traffic directors and noise makers for the 5 kilometer race. The members helped direct the racers and cheered them on to the finish line as well. Aside from helping out the racers, the members also had fun using dye powder that was put on shirts, which then dyed the shirt when water was added. The volunteers dyed the other runners’ shirts along with their own. The participants in the event were David Nie, Spencer Liu, Freddie Zhao, Jason Nie, James Li, Jeremy Liu, Edison Chiu, and Daniel Kong. The members hope that this event helps to emphasize the power of fundraising and to raise awareness for those less fortunate.
