Metro Detroit Branch Completes Water Crisis Event

On June 10th, the Metro Detroit Branch finished their Water Crisis Event.

They drove 2 hours to donate 20 cases of water, 10 packs of baby wipes, and 30 bottles of hand sanitizer to Catholic Charities, a group that helps provide some of the basic necessities to those in the Flint area.

In the month of April, Elayni Liu, Spencer Liu, David Nie, Jason Nie, and Freddie Zhao spent 5 hours to create the goods for the bake sale. They created 200 sesame balls and 100 pieces of swiss rolls which were all sold within 3 hours at a local Chinese cultural event the next day. The money that was raised was then used to purchase the donated goods. In addition, Ethan Chen, Edison Chiu, Daniel Kong and James Li also donated cases of water and baby wipes.

The Metro Detroit Branch hopes that this event can help raise awareness for water-related crisis throughout the nation.
