On April 24th, 2016, AYLUS Pearland went to Orchard Park Assisted Living and Memory Care with high hopes of planting, gardening, and cleaning the area of trash.
However, due to heavy raining, the members were limited in their activities and had to fall back on a second plan. Under the guidance of the Life Enrichment Coordinator, Ms. Doris Preuss, our members gave their best effort to maintain the nursing home’s beauty while chatting with the elderly.
With the combined effort of all 16 of the volunteers, AYLUS Pearland managed to not only lay down soil for the beds of flowers and clean the patio, but also keep the seniors company for two hours.
Orchard Park was extremely pleased to have AYLUS Pearland take time off their Sunday to volunteer with them. We will definitely visit Orchard Park again to finish planting and gardening.
