On May 26, the Sugar Land Branch continued maintaining the Memorial Park Butterfly Garden. Members pulled weeds, removed dried branches, and cleared areas around plants to give them space to grow. On May 18, the Sugar Land Branch continued its music tutoring project. Similar to the previous week, this week’s lesson emphasized music theory and reading printed music. The knowledge from previous weeks was built upon in this week’s session, which wrapped up the principles of elementary music theory and fundamental violin technique.

On February 23, members of the Sugar Land Branch performed another concert for seniors at a nursing home. The performers: Hanyang Sha, Yijia Jiang, and Albon Wu presented a series of violin concertos during the hour-long performance. The concert was very well-received by the senior audience.

On February 9, four members of the Sugar Land Branch volunteered at a nursing home. The members, Serena Li, Hunter Han, Yijia Jiang, and Albon Wu, performed several pieces during the concert, including both traditional and classical compositions alike.

On February 2, members of the Sugar Land branch continued performing at a nursing home. The performers, Justin Chang, Michael Ma, Seth Gratz, and Albon Wu, performed a variety of pieces during their concert, which included a discrete, bonus Chinese New Year segment which featured traditional Chinese pieces.

On January 26, members of the Sugar Land branch began preparing various ways of promoting the recent AYLUS coronavirus fundraiser, one of which was the creation of a digital poster (attached) which was distributed on social media.

On January 19, 2020, members of AYLUS Sugar Land performed a concert at a nursing home. The performers were: Seth Gratz, Serena Li, Emma Jiang, and Albon Wu and received much applause and thanks from the senior audience.

On January 12, five members of the Sugar Land performed a concert at an Alzheimer’s nursing home. The performers, Hunter Han, Michael Ma, Emma Jiang, Serena Li, and Albon Wu performed a total of eight pieces ranging from duets to sonatas. After the performance, several seniors reached out to the performers to give their thanks.

On January 11, members of AYLUS Sugar Land volunteered at Memorial Park in Sugar Land. Members cleaned the park’s Butterfly Garden, where they had planted several trees a few weeks earlier. In addition to clearing dead branches and miscellaneous items from the area, members also trimmed decaying parts from the now-grown trees.

On January 5, the Sugar Land Branch performed a concert at an Alzheimer’s nursing home. The performers, Emma Jiang, Serena Li, and Albon Wu, were greeted warmly and went on to play a total of five pieces for the concert.

On Saturday, November 9th, 2019, AYLUS Sugar Land continued weekly performances starting from 2015 at various nursing homes. The group performed an hour-long concert featuring instruments including violin, cello, and piano across many different genres of music.
