Description of the Upper West Side Branch

Realizing that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of every individual and imposed difficulties to our community, we are motivated to join together as an organized group of students to form this branch in order to take part in community services and help those in need. Our mission is to contribute to our local community by doing various service projects. We are interested in joining or creating ongoing community service opportunities to foster a better environment, enhance positive and caring community awareness, develop good values, making our team a supportive one to our community. More specifically we want to volunteer in activities that are dear to our hearts, such as tutoring lower grade students in need, hosting a park clean-up, bringing joyful music to our elderly on the street and offering hands to other community activities. Our mission is also to promote creativity, leadership, and initiatives among our fellow student members. In doing so, we hope to build a collaborative team to address the concerns and needs among our community. We want to encourage every member to learn more about the environment and social issues and utilize his or her own experience, knowledge, professionalism and talent to broaden our horizons and benefit to the success of the community.
As one of the few branches in the upper west area of Manhattan, we would love for others around us to join us as a means to learn from each other. Together we can develop skills to contribute to our local community to our maximum ability.
