Greater Princeton AYLUS Hosts First Lecture on Youth Leadership, Public Speaking, and Critical Thinking (1/9/2022)

Do you want your children to be confident and not worry about public speech anxiety? Do you want your children to be able to actively communicate with family, friends and teachers? Do you want to cultivate your children’s eloquence, persuasiveness and influence?

AYLUS (Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States) recognizes that people who can speak eloquently have obvious advantages in all walks of life. The Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) recently had the honor to invite Lawrence Zhu, a senior debate expert from the Penn University Penn Debate Society, to give a lecture on “Cultivating Youth Leadership and Public Thinking Ability”.

Lawrence has been nominated as the best public forum debater in the US in 2019. He was the champion of the UVA University Public Forum Debate Competition, the executive chairman of Washington DC BranchOut (2019-2020), and the Debate Chairperson of Oakton High School.

During the lecture, Lawrence shared his experiences of leading a high school debate team, doing community service as the Executive Chairman of BranchOut, and combining speech and critical thinking to be channeled into community services. This helps everyone understand how to create a club based on their interests in high school as well as how to improve communication efficiency through community service, and cultivate influence and influence.
