On August 3rd, AYLUS Scottsdale participated in a food distribution at Mountain Park Health Center Maryvale Clinic. Mountain Park Health Center strives to provide affordable and high quality care for families who need it most. However, the purpose of this food distribution was to help families in need. During the pandemic, many families could not afford food, so our purpose as volunteers was to help package bags for those families. The bags included poultry, asparagus, onions, potatoes, assorted snacks, milk, juice, eggs, and watermelons. AYLUS members packed till 9:00 am. After 9 am, members delivered those bags to families in need. When packaging food, members were required to wear gloves, and mask covering was recommended. As the academic year nears, AYLUS Scottsdale members strived to participate in one last food distribution before the school year. Working with Mountain Health Center at Maryvale, Gateway, and Goodyear has been a successful experience for all the members. Many of our members enjoyed attending these events, and we would love to participate next summer. AYLUS Scottsdale wants to thank Mountain Park Health Center for this opportunity and all their hard work to provide food for families in need. Members who attended: Andrew Yang (6 hrs), Shaw Hu (6 hrs), Bridget Chen (6 hrs), Laura Wang (6 hrs), Leona Wang (6 hrs), Jesse Zhang (6 hrs), Andrew Zhang (6 hrs), and Logan Zhao (6 hrs)
