On Sunday, July 11th, for 3 hours, the members of the Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) Light as a Feather Committee hosted another Earth Team Volunteer field trip to Plainsboro Preserve (80 Scotts Corner Road, East Windsor, NJ 08512).
GPA members led students, and parents from the local area hiked on the trail. We saw a variety of birds including a Double Crested Cormorant, Great Crested Flycatchers, Eastern Phoebes, Warbling Vireos, Red Bellied Woodpeckers, Gray Catbirds, Carolina Chickadees, American Robins, and more. These were spotted, heard, and identified by Ethan Xu, Chloe Tan and Lina Yang. We taught students and their parents about the characteristics and songs of the birds we saw on the trip, and fun facts about bird behavior. Overall, it was a fun trip, and we hope everyone enjoyed spending some time outdoors!
Participants: Ethan Xu, Kathie Wang, Lina Yang, Cassie Wang, Chloe Tan, Amy Zheng, Xiying Fan, Xin Chen, and Jessica Hong.
