On Saturday, 2/27/21, AYLUS Manhasset hosted an Accent modification class with the aim of helping Chinese speakers improve their English pronunciation. Each mentor had their own lesson plan and own teaching style/goals, which helped to create diversity among the classes. After each class, which was scheduled for an hour, all mentors participated in a Zoom session in which we discussed teaching and feedback, and our experiences on the separate classes. Each mentor went over a summary of their lesson, as well as one point they thought they did good at and one point they might improve. Overall, this style of teaching has brought much variation and success to our mentors and students, and we are hopeful for their continued improvements.
