The Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) students continue their Bilingual Tutoring Program in November. The program allows GPA members to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, math, and communication to their students across the country.
They had conversations over various video calling platforms, such as Zoom or Facetime, with students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Their bilingual tutoring activities included:
GPA members Catherine Feng (12/16, 2 hrs for leading the program) taught her student Brandon Math and Chinese for an hour and a half on Sunday, 12/13, from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.
Feiying Qian and Siquan Qiu teamed up to teach their student English through conversations for 2 hours on Saturday, 12/12, from 1:00-3:00 pm.
Elizabeth Jia prepared her lesson and taught her students English through reading comprehension for two hours on Saturday, 12/12.
Ryan Tian taught his student Aishia Chinese for half an hour on Monday, 12/14, from 7:00-7:30 pm. He also tutored for 2 hours each on Friday, 12/11, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, teaching two kids English and Math. He tutored two different kids on Sunday, 10/13, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm, on Math and English.
Ruofei Olivia Mao taught her student Summer English for 2 hours on Saturday, 12/12, focusing on story reading and writing regarding Christmas.
Daniel taught his student Chinese through writing exercises for an hour on Sunday, 12/13.
Abigail Bao (12/11, 2 hrs; 12/13, 2 hrs; 12/18, 2 hrs; 12/20, 2 hrs) taught her students in the subjects of English reading and writing, focusing on story-telling.
