We started off by talking about what a cell is and the cell theory. We went over the three points of the cell theory and what they mean. We then talked about the difference between prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells, then explained the difference between plant and animal cells. We talked about the different organelles of a cell, and what their functions are. We drew diagrams along the way to show what they look like. We then talked about how the main purpose of many organelles is to make proteins and ship them. At the end we left the slides and drew a diagram of an animal cell on a whiteboard. We drew a part of the cell, and asked the students what we were drawing. We then asked them what the part does. We repeated this for each organelle, and then drew two more organelles that were present in plant but not animal cells.
