Greater Princeton AYLUS Made Promising Progress in “Cool Crafting for AYLUSxCreation” Project First Week in October 2020

During the first week in October 2020, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) continued its “Cool Crafting for AYLUSxCreation” project. This project is to encourage GPA members to use their talents in all kinds of crafting and business to raise funds for AYLUS and promote youth volunteering in our community.

Here is an update on the recent progress:

1) Sales: cardigan, personalized necklace (by Sarah Yan), lock earrings – $41 total before shipping and fees

2) Social media accounts: As per Karen Yang’s recommendation, Amy Xu started an AYLUSxCreations instagram account, and posted on Pintrist and Tiktok. Her process is to take pretty photos of things she’s selling or genuinely like, this contributes to the aesthetic of the page and increases exposure. Amy made a video of her screen printing process and it got a few likes!

3) Listings: Amy Xu listed a couple more pieces on Depop and Sarah Yan (10/4, 2 hours) put her products on Etsy.

4) Hours: Amy Xu spent 6 hours on social media/filming/product photography/listing, 1 hour screen printing, and 1 hour helping Sarah Yan get situated with Etsy, connecting her to her first customer, and editing her product photos to post on the social media platforms.

5) Goal: First donation to AYLUS in the next two weeks. So exciting!

Thank you to everyone for staying and believing in this project! It’s fun and GPA members are happy to be doing this for AYLUS!
