On August 16, 2020, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA), Kevin Song and Karen Yang, teamed up and taught kids from West Windsor in the subjects of math. The 1.5-hour class offered by GPA members Karen Yang and Kevin Song teach Pre-Algebra class to 6 kids: Kathy, Victor, Claire, Meisu, Claire, and Mia.
This week we continued to learn our Pre Algebra content by learning about. We first checked homework from last class and answered questions the kids may have had, with students saying their answers. Then the students watched a video (similar to last time) on the product of square roots and how to solve similar problems. We continued by giving the students some example problems to complete and continued by letting them watch another video! We gave them more problems to do, including simplifying some square roots. We continued class by giving the kids problems to do as a review of chapter 9 with square roots, irrational numbers and how to solve them. Finally, we went over next time’s homework.
