On August 12, 2020, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA), Kevin Song and Karen Yang, teamed up and taught kids from West Windsor in the subjects of math. The 1.5-hour class offered by GPA members Karen Yang and Kevin Song teach Pre-Algebra class to 6 kids: Kathy, Victor, Claire, Meisu, Claire, and Mia.
This week we continued to learn our Pre Algebra content by learning about irrational numbers. We first checked homework from last class and answered any questions the kids may have had, with students saying their answers. Then the students watched a video (similar to last time) on irrational numbers and what they were. Then, we gave them questions on square roots and irrational numbers and their relationships and each student was assigned problems. Next, we continued by explaining how square roots can be broken up in order for them to be multiplied and simplified! We did some more problems as well on this and then, we assigned homework for the next class. We’ll be having class on Sunday!
