On November 2nd, volunteers from AYLUS Great Neck Branch participated in an Accessible Art volunteer activity at Great Neck House from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. (27th)
During the activity, we used different color sand to make a 3d painting of the ocean, sunset, and sky. We used different colors to decorate the orange sunset, the pink sky, and the blue ocean. We also added different materials to make it pop and look more realistic. As we continued painting, we gradually added more details to the picture and made the things blend together.
During the art process we were creative and used a lot of different materials to replicate real life things like white styrofoam for the clouds or a crochet flower for the sun. While we worked on that the students painted shaped glass keychains to hang in their house or to use to decorate the canvas. Next week we’ll use glass art to decorate the canvas and make it pop.
