On Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10:00-12:00, four members of the Newtown AYLUS Branch volunteered at United Way, an organization for helping moving stuffs from the warehouse to the right shelves.
Our job was to help to open one pallet wrapped from Walmart in the warehouse. After open the pallet we separated all products by category, and took the product to the same category shelf and organized properly. We teared down carton box and put them in recycle dumpster and all trash in trash cans. We also cleaned up a couple of shopping carts full of products not categorized. We took them one by one and found the corresponding category shelf place and organized them completely. This process requires patience and carefulness as we needed to familiar and roughly remember the category shelf location and brought the items to the right place repeatedly. Although we only had 4 volunteers, we did finish the work ahead of the scheduled time. Then we spent the rest of the time organizing the shelves.
Participating members included Derrick Zhang(Event leader), Samuel Zhang, Gianna Zhou, and Randall Zhang.
