AYLUS Garden City members continued the branch’s community arts and crafts initiative by collaborating with WeArt GC Studio to decorate breakfast bags for the Kids Independent Food Program (KIFP) on 10/11/2026 11:00am – 1:00pm. Volunteers Lynnea Li, Natalie Yu, Leanne Ng, Luis Ye, Daniel Quinn, and Sophia Quinn who are also students from the art studio participated, creating unique, high-quality artwork on paper bags intended for children receiving food assistance.
The students used their artistic skills and creativity to transform ordinary paper bags into colorful, individually decorated designs. Each bag featured original artwork, making the bags more personal and visually engaging for the children who receive them.
KIFP is a youth program at NOSH Delivers that provides breakfast and lunch bags to children. During the summer, when schools are closed, access to meals can be more challenging for low-income families. The decorated bags help bring color and encouragement to a program that supports children and families in the community.
Through this collaboration, AYLUS Garden City and WeArt GC Studio combined community service with artistic expression, giving young artists an opportunity to use their talents to benefit others. The activity also demonstrated how creativity can make a meaningful contribution to local community programs.
