AYLUS Glen Head Branch Volunteers Serve Seniors Through Music at Regency Senior Center | October 11, 2026

AYLUS Glen Head Branch organized a volunteer music performance at Regency Senior Center on October 11, 1-4pm to share the joy of music with senior residents and create a meaningful opportunity for intergenerational connection. Through this community service initiative, we used our musical talents to bring warmth, happiness, and companionship to the seniors.

The volunteers presented a selection of musical performances featuring instruments such as the piano and violin. Each performance was an opportunity to share music, express creativity, and create a welcoming atmosphere for the residents. We hoped our music would bring back cherished memories, lift spirits, and make the seniors feel appreciated and connected to the community.

Beyond performing, we learned the importance of patience, empathy, respect, and meaningful community engagement. They gained a deeper understanding of how music can transcend generations, connect people from different backgrounds, and provide emotional comfort and joy.

AYLUS Glen Head Branch is committed to promoting youth leadership, community service, and the positive impact of the arts. By bringing music to the Senior Centers, our student volunteers demonstrated how young people can use their abilities to serve others, strengthen community bonds, and make a positive difference in the lives of senior residents.
