On August 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, AYLUS Glen Head Branch organized a volunteer music performance at Sunrise Senior Center to bring joy, comfort, and companionship to senior residents through the power of music.
Student volunteers performed a variety of musical pieces on instruments such as the piano and violin, sharing our musical talents and creating a warm, joyful atmosphere for the seniors. Through our performances, we hoped to brighten the residents’ day, encourage social connections, and make music an enjoyable and meaningful part of their lives.
This community service activity provided us with an opportunity to use their musical abilities to give back to the community while developing compassion, communication skills, teamwork, and a stronger sense of civic responsibility. The performance also demonstrated how music can connect generations, inspire happiness, and bring people together.
AYLUS Glen Head Branch is committed to promoting youth leadership and community service through meaningful, ongoing volunteer projects. By sharing our musical talents with senior residents, we demonstrated kindness, respect, and the importance of serving others through the universal language of music.
