On October 4, 2026, the AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with the local United Methodist Church to organize a food collection initiative aimed at supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in the community. Through the collective efforts of dedicated volunteers and generous community members, the initiative successfully collected over 35 pounds of food to help provide essential resources to those in need.
AYLUS Morris Branch volunteers worked together with the church to gather and organize donated food items, demonstrating their shared commitment to community service and helping vulnerable populations. Every donation, regardless of size, represented an important contribution toward addressing food insecurity and ensuring that local families have access to essential groceries. By working closely with the United Methodist Church, AYLUS volunteers were able to strengthen community partnerships and encourage greater participation in charitable activities. The collaboration also provided young volunteers with a meaningful opportunity to develop a sense of social responsibility, teamwork, and compassion for others.
At 4:00 p.m. on October 4, AYLUS Morris Branch volunteers delivered more than 35 pounds of collected food to the designated local food distributor, where the donations could be further distributed to individuals and families in need. This timely delivery helped ensure that the donated items would reach community members who rely on local food assistance programs.
The AYLUS Morris Branch is grateful to the United Methodist Church, all participating volunteers, and the generous donors who contributed to this initiative. Although 35 pounds of food may seem like a modest amount, every contribution can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Through continued partnerships and community service efforts, AYLUS Morris Branch hopes to inspire more young people to give back, strengthen neighborhood connections, and build a more caring and supportive community.
