AYLUS Morris Branch organized a community clothing drive to support children and families served by the Educational Center for Life Careers (ECLC). Branch members reached out to families and neighbors in the local community and collected more than 100 pieces of gently used clothing. This project provided an opportunity for community members to give clothing that was no longer needed while helping ensure that useful items could benefit families who may need additional support.
After collecting the donations, AYLUS members carefully sorted and organized the clothing to make sure the items were clean, usable, and appropriate for donation. Members worked together to group the clothing by type and size, preparing everything for delivery. Through this process, students not only contributed their time but also learned the importance of responsibility, organization, and community service.
On the morning of September 26 at 11:30 a.m., AYLUS Morris Branch members delivered the collected clothing to ECLC. The donations will be made available to children and families who receive support through ECLC. By partnering with a local organization that works directly with families in the community, AYLUS members were able to turn a neighborhood collection effort into meaningful assistance for those who may benefit from additional resources.
This clothing drive demonstrated how small contributions from many community members can make a meaningful difference. AYLUS Morris Branch is grateful to everyone who donated clothing and supported the project. The experience also encouraged members to continue identifying practical ways to serve local families and strengthen connections within the community.
