Chapel Hill Volunteers Create Heart Pillows and Origami Gifts for Patients on August 15, 2026

On August 15, 2026, volunteers from the AYLUS Chapel Hill Branch gathered to make heart-shaped pillows and origami gifts for patients. Volunteers spent several hours cutting fabric, sewing, putting the pillows together, and folding origami.
The goal of this project was to create simple handmade gifts that could brighten a patient’s day and offer some comfort during a difficult time. We hope the heart pillows and origami gifts will remind the patients and their families that they are cared for and supported by the community.
Volunteers who participated were Alwin Liu (6 hours), Camille Wang (6 hours), Daniel Liu (6 hours), Eli Tan (6 hours), and Leah Yang (6 hours).
