AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families Through NOSH Delivers! Food Pantry (127th) on August 3rd, 2026

On the morning of August 3, 2026, the AYLUS Roslyn Branch assisted NOSH Delivers in inspecting and distributing foods and groceries to those in need. NOSH Delivers is a non-profit organization that helps to supply goods and services to local communities and cities such as North Shore. Founded in March of 2020, the NOSH Delivers organization aims to make food more accessible to families, given the still ongoing issue of food struggles and devastating impact that the pandemic had on food accessibility and supplies. During today’s collaboration in the NOSH Food Pantry, AYLUS members helped to inspect fruits, snacks, and vegetables for quality and expiration dates. Most noticeably, we were tasked with inspecting oranges for mold and their ability to be distributed or not. In addition to inspections, we were also tasked with preparing bags of food, including spaghetti, tuna, drinks, and more, which were to be delivered to hundreds of families. All of these tasks proved crucial to supplying safe and nutritious foods to struggling families. However, our service here was also met with certain challenges that may have disrupted how well we worked. For example, we were working with fellow volunteers, some of whom we didn’t recognize. Additionally, some tasks required teamwork and cooperation to be completed, such as the inspection of foods. We all were ultimately able to overcome this by effectively communicating and asking questions with those we didn’t know, which ensured that we were completing tasks to the best of our efforts.

Volunteers who helped to collaborate with NOSH Delivers include: Ryan Chen (3 hours), Calvin Chen (3 hours), and finally, Austin Wang (4 hours).
