Today, Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, Great Neck AYLUS held another successful tutoring session at the Great Neck Library Station Branch; where volunteers worked together to help students with various activities. Today we had two new students joining the program: going into third grade and kindergarten. Ivy taught the younger student English letter sounds and basic reading skills. Olivia taught the older students with above level books, improving her reading skills. Meanwhile, Junlin and Summer help two students with the library’s monthly scavenger hunt. They also played a game of monopoly with the students–using the game as a way to show and teach them investment and life skills for the future. With the efforts of our volunteers and the cooperation of the students, the students improved their skills in English or overall knowledge of parts of adulthood. Overall, today was another successful tutoring session!
