On August 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., members of the AYLUS Morris Branch participated in a community appreciation event hosted by the Chatham Public Library to express gratitude and appreciation to local police officers for their service and dedication to the community. As part of the event, AYLUS members helped distribute thank-you cards to neighborhood residents and encouraged community members to write personal messages of appreciation and support for local police officers. The cards provided an opportunity for residents of all ages to express their gratitude and recognize the important work that police officers do to help keep the community safe.
After distributing the thank-you cards, AYLUS members collected the completed cards from participating residents. The members then gathered the cards and delivered them to the Chatham Public Library at 3:00 p.m. on August 2. The library will use the collected cards as part of its community appreciation effort and share them with local police officers. Through this activity, AYLUS Morris Branch members helped create a meaningful connection between local residents and law enforcement officers, allowing community members to show their appreciation through handwritten messages.
This event was a valuable opportunity for AYLUS members to participate in a positive community service activity and encourage others to recognize the contributions of local police officers.
