SMILE 4 Special Needs (#286): Volunteers Lead the LSA SMILE Summer Camp (#144) on July 31, 2026

On Friday, July 31, 2026, Pearland AYLUS volunteers assisted staff at the 2026 LSA Summer Camp held at the Special Needs Caring Center, helping provide engaging and meaningful activities for campers with special needs.

Volunteers supported participants during the baking class, where campers had the opportunity to practice important independent living skills in a safe and encouraging environment. In addition, volunteers organized social skills activities and assisted participants during an interactive yoga class. Through music, rhythm, and coordinated movements, participants practiced following directions while developing their coordination, motor skills, and overall physical confidence.

The campers actively participated in all activities and enjoyed the positive, supportive atmosphere. These experiences helped strengthen their daily living skills, communication abilities, social interactions, and self-confidence while fostering meaningful connections with volunteers and peers.

Volunteers (3 hrs): Jemmy Li, Yurong Qiu, Yushan Qiu, Gloria Zhang
