On the 1st of August, 2026, AYLUS Lake Washington member Elissa Song and Andrew Zhang volunteered at the Big Rock Park Central Heritage Garden with the Sammamish Botanical Garden Society. They helped cut aged branches and deadheaded flowers so that plants can bloom more. They also removed weeds and invasive plants, cleaned up overgrowth, maintaining the garden in a healthy condition. They learned about important environmental skills as well as practiced garden work skills. They agrees and acknowledges that this was an excellent opportunity to help out in the community and contribute positively to the environment. They volunteered for two hours, from 09:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
