On Saturday July 25th, 6 members of Great neck AYLUS went to New Hempstead beach park to volunteer during the Dragon Boat Festival. Volunteers Jolynn, Catherine, and Felicia worked on face painting and Yuya, Yingxiang, and Ryder worked on balloon making.It runs from 9:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We did not charge money for the services and it was a big hit in the festival, we were able to use our skills to give back to the community. Volunteers painted over twenty faces for children with things like dragons or princesses. For balloon twisting things like dogs or swords were a big hit.
Volunteers were able to enjoy the festival with all the delicious food by all the different vendors and enjoy the music by performers. This was another successful event by AYLUS Great Neck!
