On Saturday, July 25, 2026, members of AYLUS Syosset volunteered at the weekly CCE Nassau Farmers Market at Eisenhower Park Field 8. The effort was split between three shifts throughout the day, with a maximum of four members per shift. The first shift arrived at 7:30am, setting up tents, placing banners and helping vendors set up. The market opened up to the public at 9:00am, and the second shift arrived to work at the activity table, facilitate punch cards and interact with local vendors and community. Throughout the day, vendors sold cookies, fresh produce, jewelry, plants, flowers and spices. At 11:00am, the third shift came in to aid the volunteers working the morning shift. Additionally, the last shift cleaned up, helping fill in for Jen’s absence, packing away tables, chairs and tents by 2:00pm.
Our volunteers continuously worked throughout the entire market! At the front of the market, a few volunteers worked the front tent, filling in punch cards, assisting attendees and logging attendance for the market. In the middle of the field, volunteers worked the activity stand, helping many kids color and playing sports with local attendees. Our floating volunteers walked around, carrying produce and plants for attendees and answering questions.
