On Tuesday, July 21, the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted a successful tutoring session from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at the Great Neck Station Library. A positive highlight; during this session, an onlooking parent came up to our tutors and asked for their children to be included in the program, increasing our number of students for the day and future. Olivia Kang helped a child improve their reading fluency and went over grammar terms, while later also doing a Read-Aloud. Brian Zhang assisted a student with their summer Pre-Algebra problems, while also providing help with AMC-8 practice. Linzi Yeung read a book to the new student—a second grader—about the celebrations and history around Chinese New Year, while simultaneously getting her acclimated to the program. This session was executed effortlessly, and students were able to get work done swiftly and without any problems. The next session will be on Thursday, July 23rd.
