On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the AYLUS Twin Cities Branch successfully held Session 3 of our free Chinese, Art & Math Summer Workshop from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Excelsior Library Meeting Room (337 Water Street, Excelsior, MN 55331).
During the Chinese class, students learned The Story of the Qixi Festival, explored the festival’s origin, practiced essential vocabulary and sentence patterns, compared it with Valentine’s Day in the United States, and completed a fun vocabulary word-search activity. In the Math session, students applied addition and subtraction strategies to solve six challenging and engaging math puzzles that strengthened their logical thinking and problem-solving skills. During Art, students learned how to fold an origami paper crane and enjoyed expressing their creativity through hands-on activities.
The workshop was well attended, and students actively participated throughout the afternoon. Through planning and leading this workshop together, we strengthened our teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills while expanding AYLUS’s outreach within the local community. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve younger students and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact through future sessions.
