SMILE 4 Special Needs (#281): Volunteers Support LSA Summer SMILE Camp for Special Needs (#140) on June 30, 2026

On June 30, 2026, Pearland AYLUS volunteers assisted the staff at the 2026 LSA Summer SMILE Camp held at the Special Needs Caring Center, helping provide engaging and meaningful activities for campers with special needs.

During the cooking session, volunteers provided individualized support, giving participants opportunities to practice important independent living skills in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment. They also assisted in interactive dancing and yoga sessions. Through music, rhythm, and coordinated movements, participants practiced following directions, improving motor coordination, and expressing themselves.

The campers actively participated in each activity and enjoyed the positive and welcoming atmosphere. These experiences helped strengthen their daily living skills, communication abilities, social interactions, and self-confidence while fostering meaningful friendships and connections with both volunteers and fellow campers. The event also provided volunteers with a rewarding opportunity to serve the special needs community with compassion, patience, and encouragement.
