AYLUS Farmington Branch Attends Costa Rica Service Trip (6/3/2026 – 6/5/2026)

Reported by: Bernice Zhang

From June 3rd to June 5th, 2026, two members of the AYLUS Farmington Branch attended a Costa Rica service trip, where they engaged with the local community and culture and worked towards a more sustainable and ecological future through the Green Communities program. While in Costa Rica, they fertilized coffee trees with organic and ecological ingredients, as opposed to using inorganic and damaging, to all organisms, pesticides and other plant foods. They also worked on a sidewalk for local school children, doing things such as clearing the road of rocks and weeds, gathering dirt to level the ground, and mixing cement by hand. Over three days, our volunteers totaled 12 hours each.
