Aylus Baking Event

On Friday, May 29th, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, the Newtown Branch baked cookies in preparation for the following yard sale on May 30th.

The seven of us gathered to bake cookies together. We broke up into two teams to make two batches with the multiple bowls we had.  We made mistakes along the way, but were sure to think rationally and fix them. For example, we put too much flour, but instead of panicking or blaming it on another, we stayed calm and adjusted the recipe. The event taught us to collaborate and adapt. The next day at the yard sale, we managed to sell all of our cookies. The cookies made a good portion of our profit, which is intended to go to the Springtime Special Needs School. Selling all our cookies and seeing all the profit showed us the fruits of our labor, and made us happy to see the profit going to the school.

Participating members included: Lawrence Fang (event leader), Justin Peng, Kylee Guo, Sarah Xue, Celene Chen,  Albert Chen, & Randall Zhang, each contributing three volunteer hours.
