Greater Tulsa Branch Participated in volunteering First Serve Tulsa for helping special needs kids playing tennis on March 28, 2026

Reported by Virginia Li,

On March 28, 2026, we had 5 kids and 1 adult in our Greater Tulsa Branch participated helping the League of of Exceptional Players in LaFortune indoor tennis center. The event was host by First Serve Tulsa, a local non-profit organization, to help special needs kids to play tennis and games, and  have social interactive with each other and volunteers. The event started at 3:00pm, lasted one hour with activities such as mini tennis, cornhole, Jenga tower, etc.  We ended at 4:00pm with cupcakes to celebrate. We arrived at 2:45 for helping preparing, and left at 4:15pm for cleaning up, for a total 1.5 hours.  Participants from our AYLUS Tulsa Branch are:

Virginia Li, Lucy (Yuxuan) Li, David Li, Yuna Zhang, Junyu Zhang, and James Li (adult)

We socialized, played games, and hung out with special need kids from the program. This is a meaningful event that we would definitely volunteer in again. It helps the kids make friends and practice social skills by interacting with us and other individual volunteers and volunteers from other organizations. In addition, this event helps the community understand and support kids with special needs. Huge thanks to LaFourtune parks for organizing the events, and the opportunity for AYLUS members to participate!
