AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers for Kings Point Park (58th) 5/10/26

On May, 10th 2026, AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteered at Kings Point Park to continue improving the park’s condition. We had a total of 8 members with 2 adults members and 6 volunteers  also helping. Using various tools, we leveled uneven sections of park so that it would be easier for people to walk along. While some of the equipment did break on us. However  we remained committed to completing our assigned tasks. We worked efficiently as  team and stayed focused despite the challenging conditions.

During the event, we used wheelbarrows to bring a large of amount of mulch to spread it around the park. Mulch helps suppress weeds, retain soil moisture, and regulate temperature. Some memebers helped spread the mulch around the park facilitys, while groups of members helped load the mulch into the wheelbarrows. We also helped to remove waste and weeds that were harmful to the park environment. Overall due to a team effort and hard work we were able to finish spreading the mulch and wood chips through through the area in a faster time then needed.

We will continue to dedicate ourselves to this project and uphold AYLUS’s mission of serving others through meaningful and practical volunteer work
