Monday, April 27, from 17:30-19:00, Catherine Tao, Katherine Zeng and Ting Lan Chen went to Great Neck House to help in the Accessible Art Program
During this program, we helped students with special needs explore their creativity through art.
Today in class we started part one of our Mother’s Day project, a small flower pot filled with model magic made flowers. Each student made 5 or so flowers with fun colors and shapes. We dyed the clay different colors with some markers and molded them into many different shaped flower petals. Our plan next week is to attach them to plastic stems and stick them into a styrofoam base inside the flower pot.
Each week is special since we do different fun projects each week with students. The purpose of this activity is to share our love of art with others, and enjoy spending time making art together. Both our teachers and students always have fun when doing projects together, and we always talk and listen to music while we’re working. This activity allows us to be productive while enjoying our time and have fun.
