On March 28, 2026, our volunteers visited Blake Nursing Home to spend time with residents in the memory care unit. Our main activity was coloring together with them.
Some residents had decent memory, so our volunteers mainly helped them with small things like passing pencils. For those who had trouble seeing the lines on the coloring pages, we guided them and showed them how to color within the boundaries. A few residents had limited hand coordination, so we held their hands and colored together with them.
Spending about 2 hours with them, our volunteers really felt how much physical and memory challenges can affect daily life. At the same time, it was great to be able to keep them company and help them enjoy a fun activity.
It was a meaningful experience for all of our volunteers. We got to connect with them and see the difference a little attention and support can make in their day.
Hours: 2
