
Today, Thursday, March 12, 2026, Great Neck AYLUS held another tutoring session at the Great Neck Library Station Branch; where volunteers worked together to help students with a variety of subjects. Despite the unexpected snow, Six volunteers still showed up! Linzi helped a student practice adding decimals, guiding them through place value and step-by-step calculations. Ivy worked with a student on mitosis, explaining the stages of cell division Brian assisted a student with inequalities and basic music theory, helping them understand how to solve inequality problems and introducing fundamental ideas in music. Junlin helped a student with advanced 5th grade math, such as word problems and basic area concepts. Summer supported a student with unit conversions, volume calculations, groundwater, and water conservation, helping the student review both math and environmental science topics. Jason helped a student with multiplying and dividing fractions, walking through practice problems and checking their work. Through teamwork and patience, students were able to improve their understanding and make progress on their assignments. Overall, the session was productive, and both students and volunteers benefited from the experience.
