Event 115: Aylus Morris Branch Food Drive Supporting the Local United Methodist Church in March 2026

Aylus Morris Branch recently partnered with the local United Methodist Church to support community members facing food insecurity through a non-perishable food donation drive. With a shared commitment to community service and helping those in need, Aylus members organized a small but meaningful effort to collect essential food items that could support the church’s local food distribution program. Through the generosity and participation of branch members, the group collected approximately 35 pounds of non-perishable food items, including canned goods, pasta, rice, and other shelf-stable products that are commonly needed by families receiving assistance.

After the collection was completed, members worked together to organize the donations to ensure they were ready for distribution. The food items were carefully sorted and packed so that they could be easily added to the church’s existing food supply. This preparation allowed the receiving organization to efficiently distribute the items to individuals and families in the community who rely on the church’s support programs.

On the afternoon of March 8 at 4:00 PM, Aylus Morris Branch members delivered the collected food to the United Methodist Church’s distribution center. The church plays an important role in serving local residents by providing food resources to those experiencing temporary hardship or ongoing need. The donated items will directly contribute to the church’s outreach efforts and help provide essential nutrition to community members.

This project reflects the mission of Aylus Morris Branch to encourage youth leadership, compassion, and meaningful community engagement. By organizing and participating in this food drive, members were able to contribute to a local cause while learning the value of teamwork and service. Although the project was modest in scale, it demonstrated how collective effort and community partnerships can make a real difference. Aylus Morris Branch looks forward to continuing to collaborate with local organizations and expanding its service initiatives to support those in need throughout the community.
