During this volunteer event, AYLUS members assisted the hospital by supporting the patient transport system, helping move patients efficiently between different areas of the hospital. Volunteers escorted patients to imaging appointments, medical tests, and treatment rooms while following hospital protocols to ensure safety and organization.
In addition to supporting hospital logistics, volunteers provided a compassionate presence for patients during their time in the hospital. Many patients appreciated having someone accompany them while navigating the large hospital environment, and volunteers helped create a calmer and more supportive atmosphere through friendly conversation and attentiveness.
This experience helped volunteers better understand the behind-the-scenes coordination required to keep a hospital running smoothly. By assisting with patient transportation, volunteers contributed to improving the patient experience while gaining insight into the healthcare field and the importance of compassionate care.
Volunteers: Eric Chen(Event Leader), and Aaron Temmer. Each Volunteer contributed 3 hours of their time.
