Newtown AYLUS Volunteers at Doylestown Hospital on 2/4/26

AYLUS volunteers supported hospital operations by assisting the patient transport team throughout the hospital. Volunteers helped escort patients between departments such as imaging, testing areas, waiting rooms, and inpatient units. By ensuring patients arrived safely and on time to their appointments and procedures, volunteers helped improve hospital efficiency and reduce delays for staff and patients.

During transports, volunteers interacted with patients to help them feel more comfortable while navigating the hospital environment. Many patients were nervous about upcoming procedures or unfamiliar with the hospital layout, so volunteers provided friendly conversation and reassurance during the process. Volunteers also followed hospital safety guidelines while assisting staff and patients.

This event allowed volunteers to gain firsthand exposure to the hospital environment and understand how coordination between different departments is essential for patient care. Through this experience, volunteers were able to support healthcare staff while making a meaningful difference in patients’ hospital visits.

Volunteers: Eric Chen (Event Leader), and Aaron Temmer. Each volunteer contributed 3 hours of their time.
