The Pearland Lunar New Year Festival attracts thousands of guests each year from the greater Houston area and beyond. The event features 50 vendor booths and 10 cultural booths, making it one of the largest community celebrations in the region during the first quarter of the year. Coordinating an event of this scale requires hundreds of volunteers, whose responsibilities range from directing parking and greeting guests at the entrance to assisting at cultural booths, supervising game areas, and supporting stage performances.
In preparation for the festival, our youth volunteers also took the lead in organizing approximately 250 volunteer meals. They purchased drinks and breakfast items, baked 50 lbs of vegetables, prepared more than 400 traditional tea eggs, and coordinated food orders—including trays and pizzas—from local restaurants to ensure the event ran smoothly and every volunteer was well supported.
