On February 14, 2026, two members of Chapel Hill AYLUS volunteered at the local Spring Festival Gala to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year and the arrival of spring. Linda, performing as part of a dragon dance team that had practiced for months, led the opening performance for an entire afternoon of festivities. Her team’s vibrant and energetic routine set the tone for the celebration.
Afterwards, Karen assisted with meal preparation, arranging tables and serving food from black bean noodles to fried dumplings onto each attendee’s plate. She also stayed behind to help with cleanup at the end of the event.
Although it was a busy and full day, we had an amazing and fulfilling time celebrating not only the holiday, but also the love and connection found within our community’s culture. Thank you to everyone who made this opportunity possible!
