City and Neighbor Support: Volunteers Organize Face-Painting Training Session at West Pearland Library on Feb 14, 2026

On the afternoon of February 14, 2026, dedicated volunteers gathered at the West Pearland Library to conduct a face-painting training session in preparation for the upcoming Pearland Lunar New Year Festival.

Face painting was one of the most popular attractions at last year’s festival, with long lines of excited children and barely a moment for volunteers to take a break. To better prepare for this year’s celebration, experienced trainers provided hands-on instruction and step-by-step guidance on face-painting techniques, brush control, hygiene practices, and some of the newest and most creative design trends.

The lively training session also drew the attention of children visiting the library that afternoon. As part of the onsite practice, volunteers offered free face painting to young library patrons, bringing smiles and colorful designs to the community while sharpening their skills.

In addition to training, volunteers actively promoted the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival, scheduled for February 21, 2026, inviting families and friends to join the celebration.

Volunteers:

2.5 hrs: Tina Dong, Jiarui Cui, Hanson Cui, Iris Yan, Wendi Zhou, Grace Zhu, Grace Zhang, Gloria Zhang, Cindy Xu

Parent on duty: Ariel Han (Jiarui Cui’s Mom)
