Newtown AYLUS Members Tutor Math (39th) At Local Chinese School

On Friday, 2/6/2026, 4 members of AYLUS taught students ranging from third-graders to eighth-graders in various math topics at the local Chinese school, the Newtown Yardley Chinese School. Albert Chen (Event Leader), Ivan Lee, Alex Hu, and Randall Zhang participated, teaching from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Our volunteers taught two out of three different classes, one for 5th and 6th grade, and one for 3rd and 4th grade students. During the teaching time, the 7th-8th-grade class, taught by Bryce Han (non-member) covered the first half of the practice questions of chapter 23 of the AMC (10) Preparation Book. The 5th-6th-grade class, taught by Albert Chen, and Evan Lee covered Chapter 3. Looking for a Pattern – Examples of Singapore Math 5+. The 3rd-4th-grade class, taught by Randall Zhang, and Alex Hu covered the Chapter 3. Working backward – Examples of Singapore Math 4+. All members had an enjoyable time teaching and felt that they had gotten through a considerable amount of content, positively impacting young students within the community by providing advanced math instruction and review.

Members who contributed were Albert Chen (Leader), Ivan Lee, Randall Zhang, and Alex Hu. All members contributed for one hour each.
