On January 7, Newtown AYLUS members volunteered at Doylestown Hospital to assist with patient transport. Volunteers helped move patients by wheelchair and hospital bed to areas such as imaging, treatment rooms, and discharge points. Their work ensured patients reached their destinations safely and on schedule, supporting daily hospital operations.
During the shift, volunteers communicated closely with staff and followed hospital protocols to maintain patient comfort and safety. They guided patients through hallways, offered reassurance, and helped reduce delays between appointments and procedures.
This event provided insight into how teamwork keeps a hospital running efficiently. Volunteers saw how even small tasks like transport play an important role in patient care and overall hospital function.
Volunteers: Eric Chen (Event Leader), and Aaron Temmer. Each volunteer contributed 3 hours.
