On January 24th, members of the Syosset AYLUS joined the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) to assist with their support for local environmental initiatives. Members also assisted with removing seeds from the mature plants by scraping the seeds with a grater. This creates a larger supply of these seeds. Volunteers also dropped off plastic containers, that LINPI will use to grow seeds in. We assisted this process by creating a fresh batch of soil. Members were also involved in transporting materials to the compost, and dropping them off.
